Liam's Baptism!

It was a wonderful beautiful weekend For Doug and I.  After work and a quick 3 mile run on Friday night, Doug and I headed to Chicago for a fun long weekend.  Although we arrived rather late to Mom & John's house, we had a great time catching up with them and enjoying some midnight snacks before bed.  You guys are awesome--thanks! And, in the morning, Doug headed to Kellogg for class, of course, and Mom & I went shopping, started to get ready and headed over to the church for Liam's Baptism on Saturday night.  Doug and I were extremely honored to be asked to be God-parents to our nephew Liam James.   I definitely got a little teary-eyed during the church service.  It was really beautiful and Liam was happy as always.  He was completely observant of everyone and was just really content being held. I believe that God has his hand on Liam, and we are excited to see him grow throughout his life--he's a blessing!
A little later this week I will post pictures that my Dad is sending me from the service (Thanks Dad!).  Unfortunately, Doug  & I remembered the camera and the camera cable, but did not bring the battery charger.  So, we have none of our own pictures. So, again, pictures to come!

After Liam's party that night, we had the opportunity to stay and visit with two people who have been particularly important in my life for many years, Rick & Karyn.  Karyn, in particular, was a huge influence in my life in my late teens/early twenties, and is still is a huge influence on me.  Doug, myself, Rick and Karyn unknowingly talked to 3 a.m., slept in a bit and talked and took a walk in the morning/afternoon and it was wonderful.  Love you guys--thanks for having us over!  We have missed you!

Here is a quick picture of me, Karyn & Rick.  This picture was taken on Doug's IPhone, so not the best, but a great memory nonetheless. :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!!
Kate :)

Family!

Happy almost Monday to everyone!  We really had a great weekend.  Michelle dropped off her kids, my nephew and niece, Tryistan and Alyse this weekend to stay with us, and we had a great time.  Thank you Michelle for driving to Madison twice this weekend and hanging out with us!

And, my Mom & "Grandpa John" drove up on Saturday morning (while Doug was at Kellogg) with a U-Haul full of furniture (including my childhood bedroom set for one of our bedrooms, and a couple pieces from my dear Grams) to stay with us and spend time with their grandchildren (probably one of their favorite things to do!).  Tryistan and Alyse are such great, fun kids.  We love spending time with them,  and we are so grateful for my Mom and John who we spend a lot of quality time with talking and laughing.

Anyhow, here are some pictures from our weekend with everyone.  Thank you SO SO much again Mom & John for helping us so much and for spending time with us!

My Mom & Alyse (they look just a little bit alike, right? -lol)

Uncle Doug and Alyse Nicole.  Alyse is fond of Uncle Doug...she kept saying proudly "Uncle Doug is holding me!" :) Cute

Have a great week everyone!

Happy Belated Birthday Meredith!

And, my favorite Friday Fashion Find this week is printed tees.  I wear them constantly.  Very cute, trendy and casual.  My absolute favorite are the Ed Hardy brand tees, but they are quite pricey.  However, I LOVE a bunch a Target.  Particularly the printed tees designed by Jochavich-Hawk.  Here's an example of my favorite one on sale for about $9.00:

New Job! Aubrey Visited! Doug started back with Kellogg!

Hello All!

Hope everyone is doing great. It has been a good week! After much thought and prayer, I accepted a job as an 'Executive Recruiter ' (my official job title) ,which combines my Sales Experience and my Healthcare/PR experience. As I have been working toward a career in recruiting, I am very excited about this opportunity! What is also great is that I will have the opportunity to work from home, which will be fantastic especially when Doug & I start to grow our family. Yay! Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers and for listening as I weighed the decision between offers. :)

My dear friend Aubrey from my college days at ONU was finally able to visit (no snow storm this time) on Friday and Saturday. We had a great time catching up on life...laughing and talking, and Aubrey was a HUGE help in helping sort a decorating vision for our new home, and gave us some great ideas. As I already told you guys, Aubrey is a interior decorated for the Walter E. Smithe showrooms in the Chicago area. She is truly talented and fantastic!!! Thank you for everything Aubrey!!!!

And while Aubrey and I were catching up and decorating away, Doug was in class from early morning until evening at Northwestern in Chicago. After we moved to Madison, Doug transfered to the weekend program (which just started up again this weekend) for his MBA with Kellogg, so unfortunately he will be gone every Saturday. We love sharing our weekend together, so this is hard for us that we will be apart on Saturdays, but we are taking it in stride knowing that this is only temporary. Doug loves his classes (finance and microeconomics courses). Although tired, Doug came back energized and happy, which is awesome. Way to go hubby! I am proud of you!

P.S. This week I am hosting ladies night at my house. Yes, I am breaking out the fine china and napkin rings...so stay tuned for pictures.

Peace & Blessings to all of you,
Kate :)
